Dr. Eskridge has long history developing similarity-based reasoning systems starting with his Master’s Thesis in 1987 \cite{eskridge1987analogical}, early work in Case-based Reasoning \cite{eskridge1989darpa, eskridge1991continuous} his PhD dissertation \cite{eskridge2012continuous}. In the time between his early work on CBR and analogical reasoning, Dr. Eskridge founded Intelligent Reasoning Systems, Inc., a company that was based on the reasoning techniques developed in his research and that resulted in a successful line of industrial inspection equipment \cite{eskridge1997speeding, eskridge2000processSMT, eskridge2001test}. More recent work ties together his similarity-based reasoning work with the work on human-AI teamwork, reported in the provided publication \textbf{\cite{eskridge2020a}}. This work makes the claim that it is not enough to use human-centered design processes up until product deployment, but that AI teammates must be ``radically’’ human-centered in that they must change their behaviors with reference to how human teammates are working in the present time: for example, responding to operator fatigue or emotional state \cite{weekes2019,weekes2020a,weekes2020b,weekes2023}. Dr Eskridge’s current work focuses on development of radically human-centered designed systems for human-AI teamwork to better enable beneficial interactions between people and AI.
